PERSONAL CONNECTION Steven Loewenstein grew up in El Paso, Texas. His next door neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Phillips who were from Alabama, were very influential in his upbringing. Mr. Phillips, a purple heart recipient and retired veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam wars, was like a Father to Steven. When Steven was about 13, he borrowed Mr. Phillips' record, "Drum Major Instinct." Steven was so touched by the Word of God spoken through the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, that it helped lead to his acceptance of and Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Since then he has committed many of Dr. King's sermons and speeches to memory. Through trials and tribulations, they have been a source of hope and inspiration!
DRAMATIC INTERPRETATION For the past 25 years, Steven has been re-enacting many of Dr. King's public speeches. Montgomery to Memphis is Steven's 30 minute tribute to the greatest dreamer of our time.
